Since 2007, all relevant players in the solar thermal industry and research in Germany have been organized in the German Solar Thermal Technology Platform (DSTTP). The DSTTP sees itself as a contact for research and development on solar thermal technology. The DSTTP is also an important partner for the European Renewable Heating and Cooling Technology and Innovation Platform and is significantly represented in the European Solar Thermal Technology Panel (ESTTP).

The DSTTP elects an advisory board from its members, which includes representatives from industry and science. It is represented externally by two spokespersons, currently Helmut Jäger (Solvis) and Harald Drück (IGTE/TZS University of Stuttgart).

With its work, the DSTTP has actively contributed to the design of the 6th and 7th energy research programs and has been represented in the working group 10 “Solar Thermal Technology” of the research network “EnergieWendeBauen” since 2018. A number of members of the DSTTP Advisory Board are also involved in other working groups of this research network.

Elected members of the DSTTP Advisory Board, as of January 2021
